Well, it finally happened.

My wife finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl, and I'm still grinning like an idiot three days later.

Since the majority of my time over the past couple of months has been taken up with making the new house baby-proof (an oxymoron if there ever was), I've had little spare for writing.

I don't see this changing in the next few months.

I will do what I can, in the breaks I get, but any update will be a bonus, and not a priority for me.

Finally, some advice for any upcoming father attending the birth of his child. Do not, I repeat, do not allow your partner to grab hold of your hair while she pushes. Trust me on this.

Congratulations!! (As I write, she's three years old...) Cool, she was born on the same day that I was!

Wow! I've really been out of the fanfic community for a while if I'm just now noticing that you've been a dad for 18 months now!

On another note, I've been an auntie for almost 3 months! My poor niece has had such a rough time of it! She was three months early, 2 lbs, 6 oz, & 14 inches long on Jan 7, 2008. She's doing fine now though. I babysat her last friday night and her cheeks have just filled out so much, and oh! I just can't believe how much she's grown in such a short span of time! But she's our little miracle baby that's for sure!

Have fun with your daughter and Happy Snorkack Hunting,

I grin every time I read this. :D

Congrats again, I know I said it elsewhere, and I hope toddlerhood is going well for you.

My six year old spent a large part of this evening "minding" a not-quite two-year-old at a wedding reception, and it was just about the cutest thing ever!

Congrats!

I have a 3 month old daughter as of this post, and I know how you feel.

All I can say is that Nitrous Oxide is as much for the father to be as the mommy. :)

Many congratulations! Good luck with being sleep deprived for the foreseeable future... I'll await the moment when you have some spare time for writing again. Thanks for the hair advise, it sounds painful...

Congratulations! And I agree with Rob, don't worry about writing, as long as you come back to writing someday.
Just be a good parent:)

Woa! Congratulations, man! hope your baby girl doubles you in brains, and that she begins at five years old (or less) to start writting good HP fiction stories :D

Hope you can continue writting, anyway :)

Congrats on the baby! I'm expecting my first in 7 weeks, and my husband and I both like your advice. Looking forward to your updates as you find enough spare time and energy to put into it!

Yes, a baby is more than a viable excuse not to write. Don't worry about cramming in writing; they're only that young for so long. Hope you're getting some sleep nowadays, though.

Biggest Congratulations :)
