so now harry just has to steal all the dark artifacts and hold on to the snake while he uses the portkey, how ingenious.

Thanks for a fabulous read. I feel like Ron in that I would wear out the memory of Snape's demise by viewing it over and over again. Your Harry is very witty and sarcastic. I have to be careful not to have hot beverages at hand when he gets going on a rant. It hurts a bit having coffee spew from the nostrils. I look forward to reading more of your wonderful work.
Thanks again,

Oh, Holy $*!# -- You should forgive the pun. I can see this coming - He's going to steal the ENTIRE collection, and the basilisk!
BRILLIANT! I do love this story - I cannot wait to see Waldorf's reaction!

Very nice. Something tells me the Vatican boys are going to have an empty storeroom soon. :)

*laughs* It shall be "interesting" to see what he has planned for that basilisk; somehow I doubt Waldorf will really appreciate it, even if it does address all the Vatican's concerns.

Somehow I doubt the Italian aurors are going to be too annoyed with him, either. There's something about Harry that just attracts bad guys stupid instincts.

Ah man, I really wanted to see what was going to happen next! Sigh...

Great work, though I'm dissappointed that you let them get Harry so easily with the stunners... with the guards and obvious attitude, I expected Harry's training to help him do something... not just get stunned. Still, nice chapter, keep it up.

Excellent chapter, as always. I've loved this series since it started, and am very happy that you are still actively writing it. Thank you again for all your hard work.

Nothing to say that hasn't already been commented upon plot-wise, but I would like to note the very believable and satisfying job you do on Harry's internal thoughts and characterization.

Thanks again, and I look forward to another chapter.

OUTSTANDING CHAPTER!!!! I hope Harry can make the Basilisk continue to do its job without having to kill it. Its very cruel of the church(the scum suckers anyways) to make Harry somebody who has never followed there dumb rules to do their dirty work because their to cowardly to do it. I can't wait to see what happens next. I hope that Harry and Hermione and Blaise can reconcile their differences. DO keep up the outstanding work and update soon please:):):):)

I guess you are going to stretch the whole Hermione thing out as far as you can. But I gotta agree with the girl.... Harry didn't wake her when he knew she came back to talk, then he left the country, after sending her a brief note and asking for a favor. He didn't even resolve the other issue yet. If I was a girl, I'd be pissed too.

As for the rest of the chapter, thought it was great.

I haven't finished the chapter, but, without double checking to see WHERE Grimauld is, changing at Hammersmith for a train to Heathrow seems a bit unlikely. Either they'd change at Paddington for the Express or they'd change at one of the stations on the Piccadilly that isn't split between lines the way Hammersmith is (esp. if Grimauld is in central or east london where there are innumerable stations on the picadilly for changes.)

Sorry, I know it is pedantic, but little details like that can really elevate the well written to the extraordinary.

Fascinating reading as always. I'm looking forward to the cunning plan Harry has for the Basilisk, the dark artefacts and the doublecrossing bastards at the Vatican :-)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a wonderful way to spend Friday night - forget all the work that needs to be done with the house, and dive into an imaginative and intriguing Potterverse. Loved it. The friendship with Ron, the fighting, the manipulations, the intrigues - and Harry's insistence that he will absolutely not kill the basilisk. Makes me wonder - will he move everything, basilisk and all, to the Chamber of secrets? That would be quite the surprise for the dear Waldorf. And the Pope and his gang, I guess. I loved his bantering with the council, it's just wonderful to see a Harry that manages to keep control of his temper.

Cheers!

This is a very good chapter. I really like the basilisk. He is a noble creature. It stands to reason that someone would try to kill Harry just for money and have it backfire on them. It is sad to think a tallented witch would throw her life away trying to kill the "Boy-Who-Lived"! I'm glad Ron came with Harry. It is a little sad to think Ron would fink on Harry but it is good that Harry would understand and forgive Ron. That is quite a unique revelation of their relationship. I really appreciate you story. Please continue. I look forward to your updates. pms

You know, the Vatican is going to be *SOOOOO* pissed when he leaves with the Basilisk and *ALL* of the stored artifacts! Wonder if he's going to drop them off in the Chamber of Secrets, or one of his family vaults.

Oh! Oh! I get it!

Let Basilisk continue guarding artifacts
+ Remove Basilisk from Vatican basement
+ Remove artifacts from Vatican basement
= Move Basilisk AND Artifacts to Chamber of Secrets

The Vatican and Albus-the-Old-Coot will get what they asked for, but not necessairly what they wanted. Nice!

I like the personality you've given the Basilisk. Also, you're playing the pro-Weasley-fanon version of Ron to the hilt in a very comic, enjoyable way.

As usual, it was a good chapter. Of course, you're making the Hermione issue background for now, which is driving me crazy. I think it comes with the territory, so to speak - FFA authors (and/or writers) have a special gift at cliffies, info teases, and the like. ;-)

BTW I re-read Apprentice Potter and Journeyman Potter from the beginning a couple of weeks ago. This series definitely ages well, and should stand the test of time as far as HP fanfics go.
