My wife has just given birth to a healthy baby girl. While I'm happy now, I suspect that in around twelve to fourteen years time, I may just be a little nervous.

And no, I didn't let her near my hair this time...

Well, it finally happened.

My wife finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl, and I'm still grinning like an idiot three days later.

Since the majority of my time over the past couple of months has been taken up with making the new house baby-proof (an oxymoron if there ever was), I've had little spare for writing.

I don't see this changing in the next few months.

I will do what I can, in the breaks I get, but any update will be a bonus, and not a priority for me.

Finally, some advice for any upcoming father attending the birth of his child. Do not, I repeat, do not allow your partner to grab hold of your hair while she pushes. Trust me on this.

First, I'm back writing. I now have a timetable where I can spend nearly an hour a day writing whatever I like. Woohoo.

Second, this may not last. For those who don't know, my wife is expecting our first child in a few months. So, come September, writing fanfiction will be a low priority. I will do what I can, writing on the train to work and so forth, but my output will slow.

Third, the new house is great! Despite the fact that I am now the proud owner of a HUGE mortgage, the house itself is magical, and we see ourselves living here until retirement.

For those of you who don't know, I'm moving from one side of the world to the other. This has been more of a trial than I expected. But, we've now packed, and are ready to go.
